New Delhi, The Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration ceremony, scheduled for January 22, will see the attendance of the five judges of the Constitution bench of the Supreme Court who delivered the verdict in the Babri Masjid case over four years ago. These judges have been invited as state guests for this significant event.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the bench comprised former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, former CJI SA Bobde, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, and former Supreme Court judges Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer. In 2019, they delivered a landmark ruling in favor of constructing a Ram temple by a trust at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
In addition to these judges, the event’s guest list includes over 50 jurists, encompassing former chief justices, judges, and top lawyers. Notable figures such as Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and former Attorney General KK Venugopal are also among the invitees.
The invitation of these esteemed legal figures to the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony underscores the significance of the event in the context of Indian history and the judiciary’s role in resolving one of the country’s most long-standing and contentious issues.
