Avalanche Alert Issued for Eight Districts in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have issued an avalanche warning for eight districts across the region, signaling potential risks in the next 24 hours due to environmental conditions. This cautionary alert emphasizes the need for residents in the affected areas to exercise caution and adhere to safety advice.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) has identified a low danger level avalanche threat above the altitude of 2,200 metres. The districts of Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Ganderbal in the Kashmir region, along with Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, and Ramban in the Jammu region, are the areas marked for vigilance over the forthcoming day.

The JKDMA has strongly advised people residing in these districts to take necessary precautions and avoid areas known for avalanche occurrences. This warning serves as a preventive measure to safeguard lives and minimize the risk of potential avalanche-related incidents in the designated high-risk zones.

The issuance of this alert underscores the ongoing efforts of local authorities to monitor and respond to natural disaster risks, aiming to protect the communities residing in vulnerable regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
