Authorities have crippled people’s democratic rights in IIOJK: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, February 17, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference President, Farooq Abdullah has said that the authorities have crippled the democratic rights of the people of the territory. According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah addressing people at Habbak in Srinagar said the narratives of peaceable calm, development and prosperity peddled by the authorities doesn’t reflect the reality on the ground.

He said claims of changed ground situation in Kashmir emanating from the authorities are a bundle of lies to whitewash the devastating impact of the Indian government’s August 5, 2019 decisions on the people and economy of the erstwhile state.” Farooq Abdullah said such claims are akin to running salt into the wounds of people of IIOJK, who are being denied democracy and not trusted with a popular government, whose democratic rights have been crippled and whose exclusive rights over land, jobs and natural resources stand liquidated.
