Australian High Commissioner Discusses Bilateral Ties with Pakistan’s Finance Minister


Islamabad, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, H.E Mr. Neil Hawkins, met with Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb today to discuss ways to enhance the longstanding bilateral relations between Australia and Pakistan.



According to Ministry of Finance, the meeting highlighted the mutual interest in strengthening economic cooperation and trade. The Finance Minister detailed various government initiatives aimed at digitalizing the tax system with assistance from McKinsey and Company, privatizing state-owned enterprises, and capitalizing on investments from Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Additionally, discussions covered the ongoing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects. The Australian High Commissioner emphasized Australia’s continued support in agriculture and livestock sectors through partnerships with Pakistani universities to boost production.
