Islamabad, September 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Australian Ambassador for people smuggling and human trafficking MS Lucienne Manton called on minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Mr Sajid Hussain Turi in his office Islamabad today. The Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development said that Pakistan enjoys close, friendly and cooperative relations with Australia.

We have worked together in various multilateral fora and respect each other’s principled stand on various issues. The minister conveyed Pakistan’s strong desire and commitment to diversify bilateral relationship with Australia. The minister for Overseas said that the recent global pandemic Covid-19 has created serious problems for Pakistani community worldwide. The minister conveyed that a large number of Pakistani nationals working and studying in Australia, requires Australian government’ care, cooperation and better facilitation.

While discussing issues related to human trafficking and illegal emigrants, the minister for Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development said that creating flexible regimes and legal pathways will discourage such illegal activities, and human trafficking worldwide.

The Minister also thanked the Australian Government and its people for their relief assistance to the flood victims and the Australian Media for massive coverage given to the natural disaster. The visiting dignitary conveyed the sympathies and cooperation of the Australian Government and its people for flood victims and said that Australia pledges to assist Pakistan through this natural calamity.
