Srinagar: An early morning attack in the Kupwara district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir resulted in the death of one Indian army soldier and injuries to several others, including a Major.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred at an Indian army post in the Kamkari, Macchal area. Official sources from the Indian army confirmed that five personnel were injured during the attack, with one soldier later dying from his injuries. A local youth was also killed in the incident.
Following the attack, additional Indian army units were dispatched to the area, and operations were ongoing. This recent violence marks the third similar incident in the region in the past week, escalating tensions in the area.
