Lahore, June 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Punjab Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has directed to improve the security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha cattle markets in all districts of the province. He directed to take concrete steps for protecting traders and buyers from pickpockets and notorious criminals.
IG Punjab ordered to take strict action against thugs who deceive traders and citizens in the cattle markets by fake currency. Rao Sardar Ali Khan directed CTO Lahore for effective traffic management around the cattle markets under comprehensive strategy.
He said that district traffic officers should make field visits to monitor the security and traffic arrangements in cattle markets at night and there should be no disruption in the flow of traffic in the vicinity of cattle markets in major districts.
IG Punjab directed supervisory officers to be present in the field to review security and traffic arrangements at sensitive places and no cattle market should be allowed at any place other than the points approved by the district administration.
IG Punjab said that strict action should be taken against illegal cattle markets and sale points and patrolling teams including Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit should ensure effective patrolling in and around cattle markets. IG Punjab issued these instructions to the supervisory officers regarding fool proof arrangements for the security of cattle markets in all districts of province.
Spokesperson Punjab Police said that fool proof arrangements have been made for the security of cattle markets in all the districts of the province as per direction of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan.
He said that more than 5,000 officers and officials have been assigned to guard 262 cattle markets in all the districts of the province.
He said that 271 patrolling teams are also patrolling day and night for the security of cattle markets. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that more than one thousand officers and personnel are performing security duties of cattle markets in Lahore.
Moreover, hundreds of personnel of Anti-Riot, dolphin and Peru are also assisting in security of the cattle markets. IG Punjab directed the supervisory officers to monitor security of traders and citizens due to increasing rush of buyers in the cattle markets. He said that for the protection of traders and citizens on all the highways of the province, PHP personnel should be more vigilant and alert to ensure the performance of their duties.
