Karachi, July 15, 2023 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that today when there is talk about Karachi, it is talked about in a negative way, our city has everything, only positive thinking needs to be highlighted, the lost places of Karaces will have to be find and show again, the mind-set of destruction should end, there is a need to preserve historical buildings, he expressed these thoughts while talking as chief guest in the art exhibition of famous artist Hameer Soomro,titled “Glorious Heritage of Karachi”, organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah, Hameer Soomro, Dr. Ayub Sheikh and other well-known personalities were also present on this occasion. Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that Hameer Soomro captured the magnificent historical buildings of Karachi on canvas through watercolors.
The works of art displayed in the exhibition seem to highlight the historical importance of Shahr-e-Quaid. Mayor Karachi said that 150 years ago, MereWeather Tower, Frere Hall and KMC Building were in this Karachi. That Karachi where there was raj of Hindus and British has been hidden somewhere. Hameer Soomro has tried to show this Karachi in a beautiful way through his brush and colors. Such exhibitions and programs should be held in Karachi which will portray the soft image of the city to the world, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that he will try to improve the Arts Council and other entertainment places to attract the youth towards positive activities, Karachi is the cultural capital of Pakistan, We need to show things in a better way, Inshallah we will work for the betterment of Karachi with the help of artists and Arts Council, the coming time will be better, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that we will end the politics of discrimination.
We will do development work in the same way in every area where we do not have vote bank.
