New Delhi, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):In order to silence even the weakest voice raised by minorities in India, the BJP government-led by Narendra Modi is conducting countrywide crackdowns and raids on Muslim activists associated with Peoples Front of India (PFI). Around 200 more activists have been rounded up in the ongoing raids by Indian police and agencies in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, Karnataka, Delhi and Maharashtra.
The arrests were on the self-perceived fear by the Modi government that the PFI activists may plan protests against the earlier massive crackdown operations by police, National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Enforcement Directorate (ED). Amid fresh raids in seven states, around 200 Popular Front of India (PFI) members were detained early on Tuesday.
