Army Chief Vows Unyielding Stand Against Terrorism in Peshawar Visit

Peshawar: The Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to combating terrorism during a visit to Peshawar. The visit included a thorough briefing on the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations targeting the group Fitna al Khwarij. Federal Minister of Interior and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also present at the briefing.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir stressed that any threats to national peace would be met with decisive force. He commended the Pakistan Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies for their role in dismantling terrorist networks and degrading their operational capabilities.

The Army Chief praised the dedication and sacrifices of the security forces, noting their success in eliminating key terrorist leaders and disrupting their infrastructure. He emphasized the ongoing nature of this fight, pledging to continue efforts until their objectives are fully achieved.

General Munir also highlighted the security forces’ professionalism and readiness in addressing the evolving threats posed by terrorists. He assured that hostile elements would face significant losses and their ability to cause harm would be reduced.

In separate interactions with politicians from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, General Munir and political representatives agreed on the necessity for a unified political stance against terrorism. They expressed clear support for the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, underscoring the importance of a united front beyond political affiliations.
