ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir pledged to overcome any impediments to Pakistan’s progress during his address at the first Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad on Tuesday. Emphasizing the country’s abundant resources, he assured that united efforts would eliminate barriers to development.

General Munir highlighted the pivotal role of overseas Pakistanis, describing them as the nation’s ambassadors and a beacon on the global stage. He urged them to maintain pride in their heritage, asserting that they represent a powerful country with a rich legacy.

Addressing concerns about terrorism, the Army Chief dismissed the notion that adversaries could determine Pakistan’s future. He confidently stated that neither Balochistan nor the nation as a whole would be compromised by terrorist threats.

The Army Chief also rejected the idea of a ‘brain drain,’ instead characterizing the contributions of overseas Pakistanis as a ‘brain gain’ for the country. He expressed admiration for the resilience of Pakistanis in the face of challenges, underscoring their refusal to succumb to difficulties.

General Munir reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to Kashmir, affirming its importance to the nation. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza, reflecting the shared empathy among Pakistanis for their plight.
