Army Chief Visits Troops in Orakzai, Reaffirms Commitment to Counter-Terrorism Efforts


Orakzai: General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited troops who had participated in recent counter-terrorism operations in Tirah Valley. The visit included briefings on the current security measures and ongoing efforts to maintain stability in the region.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, the COAS was given a detailed briefing on the overall security situation, ongoing intelligence-based counter-terrorism actions, and multi-pronged measures being undertaken to ensure stability in merged districts. During his interaction with officers and troops, he commended their high morale and readiness to respond effectively to any threat.



COAS Munir reiterated the army’s determination to defeat hostile terrorist networks and eliminate illegal activities comprehensively. He paid tribute to the Shuhada and Ghazis of the Army and law enforcement agencies, emphasizing that the sacrifices made would bolster their resolve to fight with utmost dedication.



The COAS also praised the efforts of the KPK Police and other law enforcement agencies, assuring continued support from the Pak Army to enable them to perform their duties effectively in the newly merged districts. Highlighting the support from the local population, he noted their essential role in sustaining peace.



The visit began with a wreath-laying ceremony at Yadgar e Shuhada, where the COAS was received by the Corps Commander of Peshawar.
