Quetta: General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), undertook a visit to Balochistan, focusing on the current security challenges in the region. He was accompanied by senior security and intelligence officials for a comprehensive briefing on the situation.
According to a statement by Inter Services Public Relations, the COAS, along with the Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan, participated in funeral prayers for the fallen soldiers and visited injured personnel at the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta. General Munir commended the soldiers’ dedication to defending the nation.
During his visit, General Munir addressed the threats posed by what he termed “terrorist proxies” acting on behalf of foreign interests. He expressed confidence that these adversaries would be overcome by the resilience of the nation and its armed forces. He emphasized the army’s readiness to retaliate against threats to the country’s sovereignty.
General Munir also acknowledged the contributions of the army, the Frontier Corps, and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism. He reiterated the army’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of Balochistan’s residents, pledging continued support to the provincial government in its peace and development initiatives.
