Army Chief Pledges Continued Support for Peace in Balochistan

QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has reiterated the military’s commitment to support the Balochistan government’s initiatives aimed at fostering peace, stability, and development in the region.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir expressed this commitment during a recent visit to Balochistan. During his visit, he received a detailed briefing on the current security situation and emphasized the Pakistan Army’s dedication to ensuring the safety and welfare of the province’s residents.

The Army Chief, along with the Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan, participated in funeral prayers for martyrs and visited injured soldiers at the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta. He lauded the soldiers for their steadfast commitment to the country’s defense.

General Munir pointed out the presence of individuals acting as terrorist proxies for foreign interests, remarking on their duplicitous actions. He assured that these “frenemies” would be overcome by the resilience of the nation and its Armed Forces.

He further emphasized the Army’s readiness to defend the country, stating that any threats would be met with necessary retaliation. General Munir also commended the bravery of the Army, Frontier Corps, and Law Enforcement Agencies in their fight against terrorism.

The briefing was attended by senior security and intelligence officials, highlighting the collaborative efforts to address the challenges facing the region.
