Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited a Pakistan Air Force operational air base today to witness the multinational exercise Indus Shield-2024, the largest regional military exercise of its kind, which has drawn participation from 24 air forces worldwide to promote interoperability and advanced training.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir expressed satisfaction with Pakistan Air Force’s combat readiness and noted the advancements achieved through recent modernization and upgrade initiatives. He observed operational activities and a range of displayed technologies, while receiving a detailed briefing on PAF’s modernization to address current security demands. An aerial display by PAF fighter jets further showcased the Air Force’s capabilities.
Highlighting the importance of cross-service collaboration, General Munir praised the aircrew’s commitment to defending Pakistan’s airspace. He emphasized that such joint efforts between military branches are essential to achieving operational success.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu briefed the Army Chief on PAF’s ongoing efforts in modernization and indigenization, including the integration of advanced weapon systems. He stated that Indus Shield-2024 aims to significantly enhance interoperability among the participant nations’ air and ground crews, preparing them for modern warfare scenarios.
