Army Chief Inaugurates Advanced Combat UAV at Karachi Defense Expo

Karachi: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS-2024) at the Karachi Expo Centre, where he inaugurated the Shahpar-III, a newly developed combat Unmanned Aerial Vehicle by Global Industrial Defence Solutions of Pakistan, and engaged with defense manufacturers from around the world.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the event showcased an impressive display of arms and equipment by 557 exhibitors, including 333 international and 224 domestic participants. The exhibition featured stalls from 36 countries, with 17 making their debut. General Munir commended the active participation of defense manufacturers from friendly nations and held discussions with foreign military officials and defense delegates.

The Shahpar-III, a highlight of the exhibition, is equipped with advanced capabilities, including an operational ceiling of 35,000 feet and an endurance of over 24 hours. It is designed to carry a range of munitions, such as bombs, missiles, and torpedoes. The exhibition drew over 300 foreign delegates from 53 countries, reflecting strong international confidence in Pakistan’s defense industry.
