Islamabad, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir today bestowed military awards on Army personnel in recognition of their bravery in operations and dedicated service to the nation during an investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir paid homage to the Shuhada and Ghazis, asserting that there is no greater honor than sacrificing one’s life for the defense of the motherland. He praised the fortitude of the families of the Shuhada, acknowledging the sacrifices made by these families as well.

Medals awarded included the Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-I-Basalat, with the families of martyrs receiving the medals on behalf of the deceased. The ceremony was attended by a host of senior Army officers and the families of the awardees, underscoring the collective gratitude and respect for the heroes of the nation.
