Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir Visits South Waziristan, Reaffirms Commitment Against Hostile Forces


Wana: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has reiterated the Pakistan Army’s firm commitment to countering the threats posed by hostile forces and their enablers during his visit to Wana in South Waziristan District.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir engaged with officers and troops, expressing his appreciation for their high level of readiness and morale. He emphasized the Pakistan Army’s ongoing support and technical assistance to law enforcement agencies, notably the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, to boost their capabilities.



In his interactions, General Munir paid tribute to the security forces and law enforcement agencies who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He highlighted the critical role of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in maintaining regional peace and supporting the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan.



The Army Chief also expressed his gratitude towards the tribal elders for their crucial support in the fight against terrorism and their steadfast support for the Pakistan Army. Upon his arrival in Wana, he laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument and was briefed by the Commander Peshawar Corps on the current security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism measures, and development efforts in the region.
