Army Chief General Asim Munir Denounces Indian Actions in Kashmir, Calls for Global Attention to Conflict


Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, has strongly condemned the Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted the ongoing suppression faced by the Kashmiri people, stressing the need for international focus on their struggle for self-determination.



According to Kashmir Media Service, during his speech at the Defence Day ceremony at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, General Asim Munir criticized the severe oppression and state terrorism imposed by India on the Kashmiri population. He accused India of attempting to change the demographic and cultural landscape of Kashmir through targeted violence against Muslims.



General Munir emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause, pledging continued moral, political, and diplomatic assistance until they secure their right to self-determination. He also honored the Kashmiri martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifices in the freedom struggle.



Further expanding his critique to global conflicts, General Munir drew comparisons between the Kashmir issue and the Palestinian situation, condemning the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza as grave violations of human rights and international law. He highlighted these actions as major threats to regional and global stability.



He also mentioned Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting a ceasefire in Gaza to halt the violence against Palestinians.



General Munir paid his respects to the martyrs and veterans of Pakistan, praising their bravery and sacrifices that have protected the nation’s sovereignty and security. He also commended the Pakistani public for their resilience and unity in facing challenges alongside the military and law enforcement.



Reflecting on Pakistan’s military history, General Munir lauded the significant contributions of Pakistani forces in past conflicts and the ongoing battle against terrorism, particularly highlighting the roles of communities from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He recognized these efforts as crucial chapters in securing Pakistan’s freedom and enduring safety.
