Army Chief Addresses Balochistan Workshop, Warns Against Terrorism


Rawalpindi: General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, addressed participants of the 15th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters today. The workshop, established in 2016, gathers a diverse group including parliamentarians, bureaucrats, civil society members, youth, academia, and media representatives, with a significant focus on Balochistan.



In his speech, the army chief highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the socioeconomic conditions in Balochistan. He noted that the development projects underway are beginning to benefit the local population. General Munir praised the contributions of civil society in raising awareness among Balochistan’s youth, emphasizing their critical role in the region’s progress.



General Munir identified foreign-sponsored terrorism as the most significant threat to Balochistan’s security and development. He warned against the disruptive intentions of hostile forces aiming to destabilize the province, asserting that such efforts will not succeed.



The army chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to confronting terrorism, stressing that it transcends religion, sect, and ethnicity. He condemned terrorist groups exploiting the Baloch identity for their agendas, labeling them as damaging to Baloch honor and patriotism.



While underscoring Pakistan’s desire for regional peace, General Munir stated that any violation of the country’s sovereignty would be met with full force. He affirmed the ongoing dedication of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies to combat terrorism with the nation’s full support.



The workshop concluded with an interactive Q and A session, providing a platform for open dialogue.
