Srinagar, September 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the world community, particularly the United Nations, to hold India accountable for grave human rights violations and war crimes being perpetrated by its troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar maintained that Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government after repealing the special status of IIOJK on August 05, 2019 has virtually turned the territory into an open-air prison where all the basic rights and freedoms of the people have been usurped.
He said killings, arrests, torture and other atrocities during house raids and cordon and search operations (CASOs) by Indian troops on a daily basis have made the life of the Kashmiri people a hell. He added that the Indian troops were harassing innocent people of the territory, especially the youth, to suppress the ongoing liberation movement but the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle till taking it to its logical conclusion.
The spokesman added that a recent report by Amnesty International on the grim human rights situation in IIOJK should serve as an eye-opener for the world community. Amnesty International in the report said that the Indian government intensified the repression of human rights in Jammu and Kashmir during the last three years since it revoked the special status of the territory.
