Islamabad: Ghulam Muhammad Safi, the Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, has called on Pakistani students to utilize digital media to support the Kashmir freedom movement. This appeal was made during a gathering at the APHC-AJK office in Islamabad, attended by students from various Pakistani universities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Safi emphasized the pivotal role that Pakistani youth play in the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, stressing that the liberation of Kashmir from Indian atrocities remains a paramount goal. He quoted the late Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani, reinforcing the sentiment that Kashmir’s struggle is for complete independence, not merely infrastructural development under Indian governance.
During the meeting, Raja Fazil Tabassum, Chairman of the E-mail Campaign, encouraged the youth to engage in digital advocacy, including sending emails to the UN Secretary-General to highlight the urgency of the Kashmir issue. Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani highlighted the necessity of countering Indian propaganda through digital means, urging the youth to actively participate in these efforts.
Hurriyat leader Shamim Shawl also echoed the need for the younger generation’s involvement in digital campaigns to resolve the Kashmir dispute. The event also saw contributions from APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed and Raja Umair Mir, among others.
The gathering culminated in all participants sending an email to the UN Secretary-General, urging him to address the Kashmir situation more assertively.
