APHC Raises Alarm Over Property Confiscations in Kashmir

Srinagar, The All-Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has voiced serious concerns over the ongoing confiscation of Kashmiri properties by the BJP-led Indian government, a move seen as an attempt to alter the demographic and political landscape of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson, Advocate Abdul Rasheed Minhas, in a recent statement, highlighted the seizure of properties from seven individuals in Baramulla district, noting it as part of a broader, systematic effort by the Indian administration. The spokesperson criticized these actions as attempts to subdue the Kashmiri population and dilute their indigenous claims, linking them to broader colonization strategies post the revocation of IIOJK’s special status on August 5, 2019. Minhas likened India’s tactics in Kashmir to those employed by Israel in Palestine, involving property seizures and destruction under various pretexts.

The APHC has called on international human rights organizations and the United Nations to intervene and address the ongoing violations and support the Kashmiri demand for self-determination in line with historical UN resolutions.
