Srinagar, Posters pasted by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Srinagar and other areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have asked people to observe shutdown across the territory, tomorrow (Friday).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the shutdown is meant to protest against the posting of a blasphemous video by a non-Kashmiri Hindu student of National Institute of National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, about Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
It is also aimed at protesting against illegal arrests, booking of seven Kashmiri students under a draconian law, dismissal of Kashmiri government employees and confiscation of properties of people in the occupied territory.
The ulema urged the people to take protest demonstrations after Friday prayers all over the territory outside their mosques to send a message to Hindutva Indian state that Kashmiris would never accept any hegemony and might policies in the territory.
The posters, pasted on walls, buildings and electric polls in different areas of Kashmir valley displayed by APHC, have appealed to the people in and outside IIOJK to become a rock against the Indian BJP-RSS government’s Hindutva agenda in the territory.
The posters mentioned that India was changing education curriculum and dismissing Muslim employees to advance its Hindutva agenda in IIOJK. The posters also urged the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and world peace-loving countries to save the innocent Kashmiris from trigger-happy Indian forces by resolving the Kashmir dispute in its historical perspective.
The posters have also been circulated on social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp.
Meanwhile, the Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC) in a meeting held in Muzaffarabad with Syed Salahuddin in chair supported the shutdown, called by APHC in IIOJK.
The participants of the meeting condemned a blasphemous video about the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (SAW) shared by a non-Kashmiri Hindu student on social media. The video has hurt the feelings of the entire Muslim Ummah, they added.
They said it was a systematic attempt by followers of Hindutva to destroy Hindu-Muslim relations and create Hindu-Muslim riots in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They said insulting words about the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. KMS—1R
