APHC Leaders in Jail Convey Eid Greetings, Call for Liberation in Jammu and Kashmir


New Delhi, From the confines of Tihar Jail in New Delhi, detained leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir have sent out Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Muslims worldwide, particularly those in Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, expressing solidarity and calling for their liberation from what they termed as oppressive rule.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Masarrat Aalam Butt, the incarcerated chairman of APHC and head of the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, in his Eid message, emphasized the challenging conditions faced by Muslims in Kashmir and Palestine. He criticized the policies of the Indian government, drawing parallels with Israel’s treatment of Palestinians and lamenting the hardships imposed on the Muslim populations in these regions.



Aalam Butt, along with senior APHC leader Nayeem Ahmed Khan, also highlighted the plight of Kashmiri political leaders and youth detained in Indian jails, urging prayers for their release and better treatment. They stressed the historical and ongoing sacrifices of the Kashmiri and Palestinian peoples, expressing hope for eventual triumph over their difficulties.



In Srinagar, APHC leader Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas voiced their concerns over the denial of Eid prayers at significant religious sites in the city, critiquing the Indian authorities for these actions. This controversy and the messages from detained leaders underscore the deep-seated tensions and the call for attention to the rights and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
