APHC Leader Highlights Role of Jamat-e-Islami in Kashmir’s Freedom Struggle

Islamabad: Ghulam Mohammad Safi, the convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) AJK Chapter, has emphasized the crucial role played by Jamat-e-Islami in keeping the Kashmir issue in the international spotlight and continuing the freedom struggle against Indian occupation in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Safi’s statement highlighted the sacrifices made by members of Jamat-e-Islami in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), including those who have lost their lives. He expressed concern over India’s alleged attempts to coerce imprisoned Jamat-e-Islami leaders into abandoning their historical stance on Kashmir, describing these actions as part of India’s broader oppressive tactics in the region.

Safi appealed to the leaders of Jamat-e-Islami to maintain their resolve and protect the movement’s integrity, which he described as essential for inspiring the people of Kashmir in their fight for self-determination. He drew parallels with other global freedom movements, mentioning the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people as an inspiration for Kashmiris.

In his statement, Safi called on the international community to intervene and support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, urging global powers to recognize and act against the injustices faced by the people under Indian rule.
