APHC Leader Behl Denounces Killing of Kashmiris by Indian Troops

Karachi: Advocate Divender Singh Behl, a leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) based in Jammu, has issued a strong condemnation of the killing of eight Kashmiris by Indian troops in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Behl’s statement, issued in Jammu, criticized the actions of the Indian forces and the government’s policies in the region.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the Indian government has implemented a dual strategy in Kashmir. This strategy involves, on one hand, the extrajudicial killings of innocent civilians, especially the youth, by Indian forces. On the other hand, there is a concerted effort to alter the demographic composition of the disputed territory by settling Indian Hindus, which he claims violates international laws and United Nations resolutions.

Behl accused the Narendra Modi-led Indian government of labeling every Kashmiri as a “terrorist” in an attempt to discredit the Kashmiri freedom struggle and mislead the international community. He emphasized that such tactics would not deter the Kashmiris from their pursuit of freedom, a right acknowledged by the United Nations and historically recognized by Indian leadership.

Paying homage to the martyrs, Behl expressed his deep solidarity with the families of those killed. He assured that the APHC stands with these families and shares in their grief, reaffirming the organization’s support for their cause.
