APHC Highlights Seven Decades of Oppression in Kashmir Under Indian Rule

Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a stark reminder of the ongoing plight of the Kashmiri people, who have endured over seven decades of oppression and bloodshed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), particularly under the current Hindutva regime led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas articulated the relentless injustice faced by the Kashmiris in a statement released in Srinagar. Minhas criticized the continuous discrimination and systemic injustice that has escalated under India’s current administration, emphasizing the longstanding and brutal history of the conflict.

The APHC’s commentary highlighted the deafening global silence surrounding the Kashmiri struggle, which has, only emboldened the Indian government to intensify its oppressive tactics in the region. He stressed that the Kashmir issue is rooted in legal and historical contexts, and resolving it in accordance with international norms is imperative for ceasing the ongoing violence and restoring peace.

Minhas conveyed the unwavering resolve of the Kashmiri people who continue to resist Indian dominance despite severe repercussions. He noted that military approaches by India have failed to suppress the spirit of the Kashmiri resistance, and such tactics only serve to exacerbate the dire conditions in IIOJK.

Furthermore, the APHC spokesman called upon the international community to recognize and respond to the dire situation in Kashmir, urging global leaders to intervene against the violations committed by the Hindutva regime. Supporting the Kashmiris in their fight for justice and freedom, Minhas argued, is akin to supporting humanity itself.
