APHC grills Modi regime for plight of IIOJK detainees

Srinagar, August 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has castigated the Indian fascist regime led by Narendra Modi for ill-treating the incarcerated Hurriyat leaders and activists, languishing in different jails.

APHC General Secretary Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health conditions of Mohamed Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Dr. Hamid Fayaz, Aasiya Andrabi, Pir Saifullah and other Hurriyat leaders who are suffering from multiple ailments but have not been provided proper medical treatment by the jail authorities.

The Hurriyat leader while hailing the steadfastness and valour of the incarcerated leadership said that the Indian fascist regime through its inhuman and barbaric attitude cannot deter them from pursuing the sacred mission of freedom from Indian subjugation.

“Since the whole occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been converted into a big jail where people face the wrath and unimaginable atrocities at the hands of one million Indian occupation forces, it hardly matters whether we remain in these small jails or in a big jail like Jammu and Kashmir,” added the statement.

The APHC leader termed the ruthless behaviour of the jail authorities as a criminal violation of the prisoners’ rights as guaranteed by the United Nations human rights charter and urged the United Nations Council for Human Rights and other international human rights organizations to take serious cognizance of the plight of detainees languishing in hell like jails of India and within the occupied territory.

He also sought help of UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement (JKEM), a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar expressing serious concern over the continued cordon and search operations, killings and arresting youth urged world human rights bodies to take notice of the worst situation of Kashmir.

He said that these atrocities are being committed to suppress Kashmiri voices but the oppressors while committing these inhuman acts are forgetting the historical fact that freedom movements of nations never get suppressed by these kinds of tyrannies. He said that Kashmiris will never tolerate this killing spree. He has paid glowing tributes to the martyred youth, recently killed by the Indian troops in different places.

He appealed to the international human rights organisations including the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and International Committee of Red Cross to take cognizance of the plight of the Kashmiri detainees and impress upon New Delhi to release them forthwith.
