SRINAGAR, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leadership has voiced its alarm over the ongoing human rights abuses, including killings, house raids, and arrests, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir under the Modi regime.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the leadership in a statement released in Srinagar remembered the youth recently martyred in Kulgam and Kupwara. They condemned the detention of young Kashmiris during house raids in the valley, emphasizing that such sacrifices will not be forgotten.
The leadership reinforced its commitment to the freedom movement, urging citizens to come together against the illegal occupation and state terrorism by India.
Furthermore, the APHC appealed to international entities like the UN, EU, OIC, and major world powers such as the US and China to actively engage in resolving the Kashmir dispute in alignment with UN resolutions. They highlighted the potential risks of the Modi regime’s Hindutva policies in the Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir, cautioning it could escalate tensions in the South Asian region.
The party also underscored the suffering of Kashmiri political prisoners held in various detention centers in India and IIOJK, calling upon human rights organizations worldwide to recognize and address the detainees’ hardships.
In related developments, the Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth Forum condemned the military actions and bombardment in Gaza by Israel, describing it as unacceptable. They urged global citizens, including those in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, to publicly protest against this aggression. The statement underscored the importance of widespread public support for the victims of Israeli hostilities, while also beseeching the international community and the UN to prevent further atrocities against the Palestinian people.
