APHC Encourages Commemoration of Syed Ali Gilani’s Martyrdom at His Gravesite


Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a call for the residents of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to gather at Syed Ali Gilani’s gravesite in Hyderpora, Srinagar, this Sunday. This assembly aims to mark the third anniversary of the martyrdom of the revered resistance leader.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani, who passed away under house arrest on September 1, 2021, is remembered for his persistent dedication to the Kashmiri self-determination movement. Incarcerated APHC Chairman Masarrat Alam Butt and senior leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah, currently in Tihar Jail, have shared messages recognizing Gilani’s lifelong commitment to the cause. They highlighted his integrity and resilience despite significant challenges from Indian authorities.



The APHC leadership has urged Kashmiris to visit Gilani’s final resting place in a show of respect and remembrance. They also called upon local imams and religious leaders to dedicate prayers and tributes to Gilani in mosques throughout the territory. Concurrently, commemorative posters have appeared in various parts of Srinagar, instigated by groups and individuals advocating for freedom, echoing the sentiment of Gilani’s uncompromising fight against Indian rule. These posters and social media campaigns pledge ongoing resistance in Gilani’s memory.
