Srinagar, October 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed concern over the continued illegal detention of illegally detained leaders, activists and youth languishing in different jails of India and the territory.
APHC leaders including Zamrooda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Abdul Ahad Parra, Dr Qayoom and Dr Musaib in their statements in Srinagar demanded immediate release of APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Mushtaqul Islam, Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nahida Nasreen, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Merajudin Kalwal, Shahidul Islam and Farooq Ahmad Dar.
They termed the plight of Kashmiri political detainees in jails as an eye-opener for the United Nations and other international human rights organizations, adding that the jails authorities were playing with their lives. They lamented that the authorities were not only treating them inhumanly in the jails but were also prolonging their illegal detention by not producing them in courts. The authorities are using such undemocratic tactics to break their political stand and freedom sentiment but they will never succeed in their nefarious designs, they added.
The leaders said Kashmir dispute poses a threat to world peace so it is the responsibility of the international community and human rights organizations to play role for its peaceful solution while Kashmiris were suffering from severe problems due to unresolved Kashmir dispute and were living a miserable life.
Expressing grave concern over the extrajudicial killing of Kashmiri youth, they said that India was committing genocide of the Kashmiri youth, adding that the great sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs would not go waste. They urged the United Nations to take note of the Indian move to change the demographic composition of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and fulfil its responsibilities to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement at a meeting in APHC AJK head office in Islamabad expressing serious concern over the current situation of IIOJK urged India to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolution. The meeting was chaired by APHC AJK leader Muhammad Hussain Khateeb.
