APHC Criticizes Modi-Led India for Hindering South Asian Peace

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing it of being the primary obstacle to peace in the South Asian region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar asserted that the RSS-driven policies of the Indian regime pose a serious threat to regional harmony and stability. Minhas emphasized that India’s longstanding obstruction of a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute is a key issue, suggesting that lasting peace in South Asia remains unattainable until the conflict is addressed as per the wishes of its people. He highlighted actions taken by the Modi government on August 5, 2019, as a pivotal moment that worsened tensions in the area.

Minhas further noted that India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and its aggressive stance are significant barriers to peace. He stated that since Modi assumed power, threats to regional peace have escalated, contributing to ongoing instability. Minhas warned that the South Asian region will continue to suffer from unrest due to India’s confrontational approach toward its neighbors. He also mentioned that Pakistan has consistently highlighted India’s influence in the region on various international platforms.

Minhas called on the global community to recognize India’s role as a significant impediment to peace in South Asia, urging collective action to address these issues and promote a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict.
