APHC condemns inhuman treatment meted out to IIOJK detainees

Srinagar, December 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has condemned the inhuman treatment meted out to the illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists by the Indian communal jail authorities.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the detainees lodged in hell-like Indian jails have been deprived of the basic amenities including medical care and hygienic food. He urged the UN Human Rights Council and other international human rights organisations to take cognizance of the plight of the Kashmiri prisoners and play role in their release. The spokesman maintained that despite the worst Indian state terrorism, the brave people of IIOJK are committed to take their freedom movement to its logical conclusion.

Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Peoples Political Party, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the merciless killing of innocent Kashmiris by Indian troops in IIOJK. He appealed to the international community to impress upon India to stop genocide of Kashmiris and give them their birth right to self-determination so that they could decide their political future by themselves.

APHC leader, Mir Shahid Saleem, addressing a meeting of socio-political activists in Jammu said that Bharatiya Janata Party government in New Delhi was hell bent upon destroying everything which belonged to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The participants of the meeting called for united battle against the anti-Kashmir and anti-people policies of the Modi regime.

India’s notorious National Investigation Agency has summoned Peoples Democratic Party’s member of District Development Council Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad, to its office in New Delhi on December 23 for questioning in connection with a case.

Meanwhile, a report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said Minorities Day is celebrated in India every year on December 18 but the religious minorities are living in a perpetual state of fear in the country. It pointed out that hate crimes against Muslims and other minorities have increased alarmingly ever since Narendra Modi came into power in 2014.

In India, thousands of protesters hit the streets of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, to demand justice for the 14 civilians who were killed by the Indian Army in Mon district of the state earlier this month. The protestors were holding placards calling for the repeal of the draconian law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act, which gives unbridled powers to the Indian troops to search, arrest, and even kill people with impunity.
