Srinagar, 12 Oct 2023:Leaders from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) condemned the custodial killing of two youths in Shopian, denouncing what they describe as a brutal, daylight fake encounter by Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). According to a press release issued by Kashmir Media Service (KMS), leaders from the APHC issued statements outlining allegations of severe human rights violations across Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that Indian agencies, under the influence of RSS, are indulging in brutal repression and stifling of political dissent.
The statements also highlighted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have endured Indian repression for over seven decades, with the BJP regime intensifying its tactics after revoking the region’s special status. The APHC leaders asserted that the Indian policy on the Kashmir dispute is militarily oriented, despite it being a political issue, advocating for a peaceful resolution through a free and fair plebiscite in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
