Srinagar, January 27, 2022 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed its grave concern over the upsurge in cordon and search operations carried out by Indian troops across the territory.
The APHC Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar said the freedom-loving people of Kashmir are living a miserable life in a terrorized atmosphere where more than one million Indian forces use to conduct flag marches in the residential areas.
He said people feel insecure about their lives, honour and dignity because of the heavy presence of the Indian forces. Being a highly militarized zone in the world, normal life is not possible, in any society under the shadow of a war, the Hurriyat leader lamented.
He strongly condemned the use of brute force against the civilian population in Shopian and the thrashing of people in their dwellings, and dragging them out of their houses and forcing them to stay in the open in sub-zero temperatures regardless of age and gender.
The APHC Vice Chairman said the freedom-loving people of Kashmir are victimised out of political vendetta and are subjected to sadistic behaviour of the occupied forces. Denial of fundamental rights, genocide, extra-judicial killings, arbitrary arrests humiliation and vandalising of residential homes and other material property is systematically carried out to suppress the legitimate demand for right to self-determination of the people of Kashmir, he added.
Reiterating the Kashmiris’ pledge to take the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement to its logical conclusion, he said, “We have rendered precious sacrifices for the sacred cause of freedom from Indian subjugation so it is our foremost responsibility to continue our struggle for the just cause of freedom.”
The Hurriyat leader urged the United Nations to take serious cognizance of the genocide in IIOJK and take appropriate measures to stop widespread killings and gross human rights violations perpetrated by Indian forces with impunity.
He said it is the moral obligation and legal responsibility of the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres to take serious action against the Indian brutalities in Kashmir and impress upon India to allow right to self-determination as a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in the larger interests of world peace and prosperity.
