APHC Commends Pakistan for Observing Kashmir Solidarity Day

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference expressed gratitude to Pakistan for commemorating Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5, highlighting the Kashmiri people’s ongoing sacrifices for self-determination. The APHC emphasized that these sacrifices are met with suppression, yet the resolve remains unshaken.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas thanked Pakistan for its unwavering support of the Kashmiri cause. The spokesman urged the international community to intervene against the actions of the Indian BJP government, which, he claimed, employs military and police forces to suppress Kashmiri sentiments under black laws.

The APHC reiterated that the sacrifices made by Kashmiris since 1947, and especially in recent decades, will not be in vain. It criticized India’s use of force against the indigenous liberation movement, asserting that such tactics will not succeed.

The statement also highlighted the Indian government’s decision to revoke Kashmir’s special status in August 2019 as part of its strategy to alter the region’s demographic composition. The APHC noted that this move was a response to Kashmiri resilience and was accompanied by a military and police siege.

The APHC spokesman further pointed out that, contrary to UN resolutions recognizing Jammu and Kashmir as disputed, India has issued domicile certificates to thousands of outsiders, including Indian armed forces and non-Kashmiri individuals married in the region.
