APHC Calls for UN Intervention in Kashmir, Seeks Accountability for Modi Regime

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a strong call to the United Nations to intervene in the ongoing Kashmir dispute and hold Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi accountable for human rights violations in the region. The appeal emphasizes the urgency of resolving the conflict highlighting the deteriorating situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas issued a statement in Srinagar, expressing the organization’s concerns during the 79th UNGA in New York. The statement detailed the ongoing human rights crisis in IIOJK, criticizing India’s attempts to change the demographics and erase the Kashmiri identity. Minhas condemned the Modi regime’s actions and warned that the lack of intervention by the UN could lead to increased violence and instability in the region.

The APHC’s statement also underscored the critical role of the UN in upholding its moral and legal obligations to address the dispute and protect the Kashmiri people from further aggression. The appeal highlighted that peace in South Asia is contingent upon the resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with international law and UN directives.

Furthermore, the statement pointed out recent activities in the region, including the distribution of posters across IIOJK protesting against the orchestrated visit of foreign diplomats, arranged by the Modi government in an attempt to mislead the international community about the real situation on the ground.

The APHC’s urgent appeal seeks to draw global attention to the plight of Kashmiris and calls for immediate and decisive action from the international community to hold the Modi regime and Indian troops accountable for their actions in IIOJK.
