APHC Calls for International Intervention in Kashmir Crisis

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a plea for immediate international intervention to address the ongoing suffering and oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). This call to action highlights increasing concerns over systematic discrimination and punitive measures directed against the Kashmiri Muslim community by the Indian government.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas detailed the discriminatory policies implemented by the BJP-led administration, which include the dismissal of Kashmiri Muslim employees from government jobs under questionable circumstances. The APHC statement outlined the recent suspension of four Kashmiri Muslim employees, part of a broader trend that has seen the dismissal of numerous Muslim workers, while simultaneously facilitating employment opportunities for non-local Hindus in the region.

The APHC criticized these actions as part of a deliberate strategy to marginalize the Muslim majority and eliminate local representation in governmental positions, describing these efforts as “a pattern of discrimination and political repression.” Minhas also reflected on the long-standing plight of the Kashmiris, who have faced over seven decades of conflict and hardship, reiterating the significant sacrifices made by the community in their pursuit of self-determination.

The APHC statement emphasized the urgency of the situation in IIOJK, urging global powers and organizations to engage actively in resolving the Kashmir dispute in alignment with United Nations resolutions. The appeal underscores a critical need for international focus on preventing further injustices and ensuring the rights and freedoms of the Kashmiri people are upheld.
