Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued an urgent appeal to the international community, highlighting escalating human rights violations in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. The group is urging global powers to intervene to protect the region’s inhabitants from what it describes as a Hindutva-driven onslaught.

Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, APHC spokesman, emphasized the responsibility of peace and freedom-loving nations to actively engage in the resolution of the Kashmir conflict. He underscored that lasting peace in the region is unattainable without addressing the issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The APHC paid homage to the youth martyred by Indian forces in Kulgam and Kishtwar, asserting that their sacrifices will not be in vain. The organization called on Kashmiris to oppose the Waqf Act, recently enacted by the Indian government, which it claims aims to strip Muslims of their rights and aligns with a broader Hindutva ideology threatening various religious communities.

Minhas further urged global solidarity with oppressed Kashmiris and minorities in India, alleging that their properties and identities are being seized by Hindutva forces through military and police actions. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s tactics in suppressing Kashmir’s peaceful freedom movement, accusing them of conspiracy to implicate Hurriyat leaders and youth in false cases.

The APHC remains resolute, asserting that the BJP’s efforts to quash pro-freedom movements will not succeed. The group called on international watchdogs to pressure India to uphold the fundamental rights of Kashmiris, including their right to self-determination, which has been denied for 78 years.
