APHC Calls for Global Action on Kashmir Dispute Resolution.

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has called upon the international community to intensify efforts to resolve the ongoing Kashmir conflict in line with United Nations resolutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government, along with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, is under the delusion that they can alter the dynamics of the Kashmir dispute and deter Kashmiris from their rightful struggle for freedom through persistent state terrorism in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The statement highlighted the severe repression faced by residents of IIOJK, which has worsened significantly since the revocation of Article 370 and 35 A in August 2019. APHC urged India to acknowledge the evident demand for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue.

Minhas condemned India’s enforcement of stringent laws such as the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Public Safety Act (PSA), and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in the region, which have resulted in the killing and arrest of innocent Kashmiris. He expressed concern over the torture faced by youths in investigation centers, where many are killed, labeled as militants, and buried in unmarked graves.

The APHC also voiced grave concern over the health of Muhammad Yasin Malik, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, who is currently on an indefinite hunger strike in Tihar Jail. Minhas emphasized that despite India’s efforts to quash the Kashmiri freedom movement, the sentiment remains strong. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmiri struggle for freedom.
