APHC Asserts Kashmiri Resolve for Freedom Amid Indian Clampdown

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has recently reiterated the unwavering resolve of Kashmiris to pursue their freedom, despite ongoing oppressive actions by the Indian government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas stated that despite severe measures like killings, arrests, and torture by Indian forces, the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken. He condemned the increased militarization and communal nature of the Amarnath Yatra under the current BJP-led government, pointing out the resulting severe restrictions and environmental damage, which he says aggravates the suffering of the local populace.

Furthermore, Minhas accused the Indian government of attempting to alter the demographic balance of IIOJK by settling non-locals in the region, a move seen as a strategy to dilute the native Muslim-majority character. He asserted that the Kashmiris are prepared to face adversity but will not relinquish their demand for self-determination. The APHC declared a steadfast opposition to what it views as Indian attempts to suppress the Kashmiri aspiration for autonomy.

The APHC also appealed to the international community to intervene and support a resolution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions, emphasizing its importance for regional peace and development.
