APHC-AJK to Commemorate Burhan Wani with Rally in Karachi

Karachi: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter is set to hold a rally on July 08 in Karachi to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Muzaffar Wani, a notable youth leader.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Wani was killed along with two associates by Indian troops in what was described as a staged encounter in Kokernag, Islamabad district on July 8, 2016. A delegation led by APHC-AJK General Secretary Parvaiz Ahmad Shah has arrived in Karachi, including members Syed Ejaz Rahmani, Raja Khadim Hussain, Chaudhry Shaheen, and Imtiaz Ahmed Wani.

During their visit, the delegation engaged with several local leaders, including Sardar Abdul Rahim, General Secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) in Sindh, who confirmed that members from the Grand Democratic Alliance and his party would participate in the rally. Rahim emphasized the international recognition of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, accusing India of suppressing this right through military force.

The APHC-AJK leaders also met with leaders from Jammat Islami and MQM-P, as well as Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani, to discuss the ongoing situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the reported atrocities by Indian forces.
