Muzaffarabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter (APHC AJK) has paid tribute to the martyrs of Jammu and reiterated its commitment to continue the struggle against Indian occupation. The announcement was made during a news conference held by APHC-AJK chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi alongside other Hurriyat leaders.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Muhammad Safi stated that the people of Kashmir seek a resolution to the dispute that aligns with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He emphasized that their efforts would persist until India’s military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir ends and the right to self-determination is achieved.
Safi highlighted the sacrifices of the martyrs of November 1947, killed by Dogra forces and Hindu extremist groups under Indian orders. He accused Indian authorities of orchestrating the massacre of 400,000 Muslims, transforming the Muslim majority in Jammu into a minority.
The APHC leader noted that since 1989, over 125,000 Kashmiris have been killed by Indian forces for demanding freedom, rights, and justice. He asserted that the resistance against India would continue until the right to self-determination is realized. Safi demanded the release of all Kashmiris imprisoned in Indian jails, including prominent leaders like Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmad Shah.
Safi urged the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities regarding the Kashmir dispute, insisting that oppression would not suppress the Kashmiri struggle for freedom. Hurriyat leader Syed Yousuf Naseem also paid tribute to the martyrs of Jammu, reaffirming that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
