APHC-AJK Protests with Black Flags in Islamabad on India’s Independence Day

Islamabad: Today, in front of the Indian High Commission, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a demonstration marked by black flags to protest against India’s Independence Day, signaling opposition to Indian rule in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, participants of the demonstration vocalized their defiance against the Indian occupation and called for Kashmiri independence. During the protest, speakers reflected on the decades of sacrifice by Kashmiris in their pursuit of freedom, asserting that India’s strategies of control could never subdue their spirit.

The demand for a plebiscite was a central theme, described as an inherent right of the Kashmiri people. Leaders at the demonstration implored the United Nations to intervene and facilitate a peaceful resolution through a referendum, aiming to annul what they termed India’s illegal actions of August 5, 2019.

Prominent figures such as APHC-AJK convenor Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other influential community and political leaders addressed the crowd, reinforcing the call for international attention to the Kashmir issue and the need for a concerted effort to achieve peace in South Asia.
