Islamabad, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter has paid rich tributes to eminent intellectual, champion of the Kashmir cause and Executive Director of Kashmir Media Service late Sheikh Tajumalul Islam on the occasion of his first death anniversary.
A condolence meeting organized by All Party Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir was held in Islamabad, today, to remember the invaluable and unparalleled services of Shaikh Tajammul for the Kashmir cause.
Speaking on the occasion, APHC-AJK Convener Mahmood Ahmed Saghar said that Sheikh Tajammul-ul- Islam transformed KMS into a practical ideological organization. He said that he was a valuable asset of the freedom movement who dedicated his entire life for the Kashmir freedom.
On the occasion, tributes were also paid to the martyrs of September 6, 1965. The participants said that these martyrs laid down their lives for a great cause and their bravery and courage is the glorious chapter in history of Pakistan.
Chairman, Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR), Altaf Hussain Wani in a statement while lauding Shaikh Tajammul’s peerless contribution to the Kashmir cause said that he was one of the pioneers of the freedom struggle who rendered his services for the noble cause while working on political, diplomatic and journalistic fronts.
Terming the deceased as one of the finest resourceful persons of the Kashmiri intellectual community, Wani said, “Sheikh Sahib was a genuine intellectual, thinker and writer of par excellence who had significantly contributed to the field of journalism”. The deceased, he said, was the most sought-after expert on Kashmir.
APHC leaders Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Khadim Hussain, Sibte Shabbir Qummi and APHC-AJK leader Shaikh Abdul Mateen said the late Sheikh Sahib was a very active and passionate leader and advocate of the Kashmir freedom movement. The leaders also remembered the martyrs of 1965 on the Pakistan Defense Day today.
