Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter convened an extraordinary meeting in Islamabad today to mourn the death of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in an Israeli missile attack in Tehran.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting, led by APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, saw leaders denouncing the attack that led to Haniyeh’s death and the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza. The assembly paid tribute to Haniyeh, remembering him as a pivotal figure in the Palestinian struggle, noting his and his family’s sacrifices, including the loss of three sons and six grandsons.
Additionally, the meeting participants commemorated Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, the founding president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, on his death anniversary, recognizing his contributions to the Kashmiri freedom movement.
The meeting was attended by prominent APHC-AJK members including General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmed and others, who collectively expressed their condemnation of the violence and offered prayers for those affected.
