APHC AJK leaders urge OIC to take solid steps to prevent India from effecting demographic change in IIOJK

Islamabad, March 21, 2022 (PPI-OT): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ and K chapter has hailed the UN General Assembly’s resolution on combating Islamophobia and observing 15 March as a day to fight the menace.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said, “Its credit goes to the UN, OIC and member countries of the two world organizations for having laid a foundation stone for civilizational and communal harmony with the intention that the suffering humanity will not be left in lurch in the face of brutal forces of the enemies of peace and harmony.

He extolled Pakistan’s persistent efforts and diplomatic campaign to raise political awareness about it and got the resolution in the General Assembly adopted by all and sundry. He hoped that the resolution adopted by the GA will be obligatory on all countries and implemented in letter and spirit to create peaceful and harmonious relations for dialogue and tolerance between different religions, civilizations and ideologies on this planet.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani strongly condemned India’s framing of fabricated criminal charges against the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir political right of self-determination movement, who have been languishing in different jails (many of them), for the several decades.

Some of them like Dr. Qasim Fakhtoo face imprisonment even after serving the life sentence. He denounced indictment by the NIA court against Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Yasin Malik, Naeem Ahmad Khan, Bashir Ahmad Butt, Peer Saifullah, Farooq Ahmad Dar (Bit Karate), Aftab Ahmad Shah, Engineer Rasheed, Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali, Altaf Ahmad Shah, under the draconian law Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and other clauses of the IPC.

He said that as per the reports and circumstances and past experiences, the special NIA Judge Parveen Singh’s analysis and conclusions were not impartial and fair, because he had passed his order of 16 March against the imprisoned Kashmiris with mala fide intentions and the Indian police under the Hindutva influence aimed at sentencing the Kashmiri political inmates by hook or by crook.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani demanded open and fair trial inside the State as the court itself says the order is a prima facie opinion and arguments are to be weighed. He stated the Indian courts have never showed any impartial character in the political matters of Kashmir.

He further emphasized that the Al Parties Hurriyat Conference was certainly a political organisation, without any radical religious or racial agenda, but determined to achieve the right of self-determination under the UNCIP resolutions for all the citizens of the former princely State, irrespective of their cast, creed or language.

Rehmani welcomed the OIC FMs conference in Islamabad, urging on all the member delegations to take note of India’s colonial laws which have besieged, dismembered and put an iron curtain around for strangulating the voices and muzzling the press and platform after 6 August 2019, to change the demography of the Muslim majority region.

In this conference, the Muslim States not only need to reiterate their commitment on the UN resolutions but should decide to take solid measures to prevent India from changing the demography of the occupied territory. He strongly denounced film “Kashmir Files” released under a malicious design by BJP in Jammu and Kashmir to harm centuries old cordial relations between the Kashmiri Muslims and the Kashmiri Pandits.

Another Hurriyat AJK leader Altaf Hussain Wani termed the court’s ruling as a classical example of judicial prejudice against Kashmiris. “The India has a long history of using judiciary and other state apparatus to suppress the democratic dissent in the occupied Kashmir”, he said adding that Delhi court’s recent ruling against Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders was extremely preposterous and pernicious one characterized by judicial partiality and integrity.

He said that India’s kangaroo courts that worked on whims and fancies of the ruling elite have miserably failed to dispense justice to the Kashmiris. Uzair Ahmad Ghazali in a statement in Muzaffarabad termed the move as a well thought-out plan to remove the Kashmiri leadership as hurdle to fulfill India’s evil designs in Kashmir.
