Islamabad, Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) and other Hurriyat leaders have voiced their concern over India’s attempts to suppress the indigenous freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people using state coercion and military force.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the convener of APHC-AJK, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, along with Altaf Hussain Wani, Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, and Sheikh Yaqoob, have made separate statements highlighting the importance of the Kashmir issue to Pakistan. They recalled Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s statement declaring Kashmir as the jugular vein of Pakistan and urged all political parties to include the Kashmir freedom movement in their manifestos for the upcoming elections.
These leaders emphasized the expectations of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) towards Pakistan’s leadership and their role in supporting the Kashmir freedom movement. They condemned the actions of the Indian parliament on August 5, 2019, and the subsequent decisions of the Indian Supreme Court on December 11, 2023, as severe atrocities by the Bharatiya Janata Party government against the citizens of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The APHC-AJK leaders described the struggle of the Kashmiri people as a battle against a million Indian soldiers, oppressive laws, and state brutality. They reiterated the resilience of the Kashmiri people in their fight for freedom and self-determination.
