Islamabad, In a significant meeting held in Islamabad today, leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Kashmir Email Forum, focusing on the current distressing situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK leaders briefed the visiting delegation on the surge in human rights violations following the revocation of Article 370 by the Indian government. The discussions highlighted the suffering of Kashmiri detainees in jails across India and IIOJK, who are held without trial, and emphasized the critical role of youth in addressing the Kashmir dispute amid India’s efforts to suppress dissent.
Convener of APHC-AJK, Mahmood Ahmad Sagar, along with other Hurriyat leaders such as Altaf Ahmad Wani, Zahid Safi, Advocate Parvez Ahmad Shah, and Syed Gulshan Ahmad, commended the efforts of the Kashmir Email Forum. They encouraged the forum to persist in their work, offering their full support and cooperation.
Sagar articulated the challenges faced by Kashmir, stating that the Modi government has severely restricted freedom of expression in the region. He called upon the Pakistani youth to actively participate in bringing the Kashmir issue to the forefront of global attention through various media.
Fazil Tabusm, Chairman of the Kashmir Email Forum, outlined the initiatives undertaken by his organization to raise awareness of the Kashmir cause at both national and international levels. By sending emails and communications to diplomats and international entities, the forum aims to keep the Kashmir dispute in the global conversation. Tabusm also shared future strategies for promoting the cause within educational institutions and think tanks, ensuring continued support for the APHC-AJK leadership.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on the importance of educating Pakistani youth about the Kashmir issue. Plans were made to organize conferences and seminars in universities and educational institutions across Pakistan, intending to collaborate closely for the advancement of the Kashmir cause.
